Bellows from Harmonikas
« on: October 09, 2019, 09:14:04 AM »

As in a previous thread, the Slovenian maker (Igor) no longer takes orders for (reasonably priced) bellows. I notice that Harmonikas do them...see here..
https://www.harmonikas.cz/en/bellows-manufacture#obsah
Has anyone tried these and if so did you get a bead on the price range?

I did not buy one but I did ask for detail and prices from Harmonicas and they are reasonably priced, depending on the added extras price changes, starts from 130 euro + VAT and postage of course, no minimum buy however price range they have 1-3 , 4-9 , and 10+...if you order 4 + at the same time price gets VERY reasonable..it might be a good idea for UK buyers to join forces together and order 4 or more at the same time  ;) i could use 2 new bellow my self for instance  8)
judging by their reeds and costumer services I expect no less quality than any other makers on the meerkat  ;D

I've still got my trusty "John Bull" puncture repair outfit, from my cycling days. My question was meant for the benefit of others, Sir John.

Interestingly, I think I stumbled across an Igor "offer" on the USA ebay within the last few week - but I don't think they were particularly "reasonably priced"!

Well I have ordered (I.e. filled out the form) for some Liliput bellows on the Harmonikas web site, but so far I haven’t been informed of the price, so it’s a bit...er....flaky.

Perhaps the poor blighter just got sick of living in relative poverty, and wanted to join the ranks of the well-heeled?

This was covered in another thread. Igor used to be v reasonable, but now charges €250, which is not dissimilar to the Italian bellows, which are probably better quality (though you might have to wait for 6 weeks). I'll keep you posted on Harmonikas bellows. It’s a bit irritating that when you order you don’t actually get a price.  (:)

I’m interested in your success, keep us posted.

I went there to fill in the order form ( its really a quote, isn’t it?) and I wonder why the D dimension is there or is needed. Wouldn’t the number of folds and the materials and its thickness being used to build them determine the D side dimension when bellows are closed? What am I not seeing,is it when its opened?

I know what size is required to the mm ( closed bellows ) but I would think above mentioned would control that size.

Yes I wondered about that dimension. It’s going to be more on new bellows than on old worn bellows. Also, the smallest fold depth (20mm) is about right for a Liliput, but this is less than the minimum you can get if you order via Carini and also when one ordered from Igor.

Does anyone know what is meant by the "Member of pieces" question on the Harmonikas bellows order form. It requires the input of a number  - so I am guessing it is asking how many completed bellows are being ordered?
