I only listed it that way for the crack because eBay will not let you simply invite offers.
Certainly an interesting strategy - I like the concept... a simple guerilla way to get round eBay's inflexibilities... I wonder what they think of it... have you seen it been used elsewhere..?
I can see myself having to revise the price to something more believable.
I would say that anyone who knows what one of these is, knows the 'ballpark' cost,
and reads the ad (which clearly reveals the purpose of the BIN), then keep it as it is.
Quick someone hit buy it now.
Oh sure, you'll
always run the risk of some herbert pressing BIN... gawd knows (from general experience), the number of fools out there placing winning bids... then making like an ostrich when you dare to ask where the money is...
However, a hit on a silly BIN might be an good test of eBay's obligations to the seller... would they actually pursue anyone who was owing a pile of money with more vigour?
Or for that matter, take greater heed to suspend/ban their account (given the amounts involved)?
Hmmmm... not as I'm hoping anyone
does, but I do feel eBay is less of a friendly place these days... too many trolls and auction wreckers... :'(
