Hi,

Online sources only seem to have the first part of this tune.  I've had a stab at the second part, could anyone comment or correct?

Sorry, I don't read ABC notation, but is this what you are seeking?

Thanks, that looks promising.    My "work in progress" ABC renders to this.   You version is quite different on the second part, I'll need to play it I think.

I picked up my version from Emmanuel Pariselle at a workshop at Witney several years ago.

Cheers.  Its nice to know the provenance for traditional tunes, especially when differing versions pop up.   My transcription is from recordings by "21 Boutons".

Oh this is a beautiful tune, thanks for drawing my attention to it. For anyone looking at this thread who is not familiar with it, this is a beautiful version:

yep; I have to agree this is a very nice version.

(though how do the musicians change from L/H to R/H playing, without loss of continuity of the tune) Huh?
or has it done with mirrors............  Roll Eyes  drink

I think you're transcription is very good and very close to the '21 Bouton's' version.  Thankyou.  I've really enjoyed playing it on the english concertina.  I'm going to have to leant it on the G/C now (which is a much slower process for me).

I've had a go at this on the G/C accordion and I would suggest the following chords.  I'm not sure how to edit your jpg file so I'll just describe it.  The first seven bars play well almost entirely on the draw over the Am chord.  For the next three bars I would use the Dm (D bass with F chord) then continue as written on your transcription Am  for 3 bars then Em on the push  for the last 3 bars. She adds another chord at the end (?B) that I don't have on my 8 bass.  The second part modulates to the key of G and seems to sit well mostly played up and down the G row over  the G/D bass buttons.  Hope this is helpful.  You really have to play it up to tempo or the second part sounds like a snails pace.

Cheers.  I've been trying the version from Bob Ellis as well, where tune jumps from Am to A major (instead of Am to G).   It changes the whole feel of the piece, a more brassy fairground sound.
