I have to tell you how grateful I am for the invaluable advice dispensed on this forum. I received a recently purchased box from France last week, and it looked like it'd been dropped, or at least severely manhandled on the way over.
The reed blocks had shifted, and a bunch of reeds were loose. After my initial dismay, I turned to my trusted melnet, and thanks to pointers from Theo and Steve Freereeder, (found on previous posts) I had my accordion back in shape in about 45mm. It saved me a lot of grief and a bunch of money. Thanks again.
