Hi all

Well, with winter drawing in, once more the old question of what to do with those long dark evenings?

Devon Squeezebox Foundation are planning twice monthly D/G melodeon workshops from
October until May throughout Devon.
Open to musicians 12 years old upwards,
we cater for every level from the absolute beginner
to those after the tricky stuff

Devon Melodeon Project
We plan to run workshops in North Devon at Great Torrington, East Devon at Harpford,
South Hams at South Brent and West Devon at South Tawton
We also have a limited number of Melodeons available for hire for those who think they want to have
a go at playing but would like to try before they buy!

Lots more details at

www.devonsqueezeboxfoundation.co.uk

And we also provide something for those with unnatural tendencies

Squeeze Keys (Piano Accordions)
Workshops in Lustleigh and Broadclyst

We also hope to run Anglo Concertina workshops.
Naturally whether we do or not depends on if there is sufficient interest.
They will probably be in the South Hams, but it all depends where the interest is!

Now I know these last two items may be "off subject" for this esteemed organ, but
I have always found melodeon players a tolerant bunch!

Cheers

Ed

PS I just used the spell checker on this post and the only word it picked out was melodeon! Shome Mishtake Shurely?

"Well, with winter drawing in" WHAT !!!!!!!! GORDON BENNETT ~ It's still the middle of SUMMER!  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Mind you, I reckon we ALL need a good Squeeze, on a Winter's night Ed!  Grin

But seriously, looks like you guys are going to be busy.
Just a pity it's such a long cycle from Ulster to Devon.  Wink

Best of Luck anyway. I do hope you get enough interest for your Concertina classes.

Cheers

Hi Ptarmi

Thanks for the good wishes!

Well the calendar may say Summer, but it's pouring with rain here in Devon and last night I even considered lighting the fire!

However a proper blast through Paddy Carey and Morgan Rattler and I was warmed up nicely. This is probably why the British Melodeon player pumps the bellows and the European chap crosses rows and plays in a silky smooth way. The Brit is trying to keep warm!
