Title: Dermot Byrne: "Before and After"
Post by: finnhorse on November 24, 2008, 07:38:27 AM
Dermot Byrne's name came up in the Briggs discussion.  I found two videos which present the interesting and rare opportunity to watch an excellent player at two different stages (and ages).

Age 13 -- blazing triplets!  Handles the shift from reel to a Scotch snap pretty well, too.

More recently, but a different tune:

Surprisingly good acoustics for the quality of that second video.

Thoughts?  I mean, it is the same guy, right!   ;D

Great playing yes, but why are the audience in the second clip all sitting down, they should up dancing.
