Title: Bandoneon tuning
Post by: 911377brian on March 12, 2013, 01:38:27 PM
Re Begginers Questions, Dec 12. 2012..Adam T said ''I'm sure someone will bandoneon tune a Hohner 1040 sooner or later...''Well, Microbot has done just that to my D box. He will put up a Soundcloud soon. He's played it down the phone to me and it does sound tasty... ;D :||:

Just heard your Soundcloud Mike, and it sounds great! On the strength of your recording brace yourself for more 1040 conversions. Wonder if I've got the only bandoneon tuned 1040 in the known universe? (:) ;)

Just to thank Microbot for stacking several tunings (different boxes) together on the same soundCloud page. I found it very interesting, and anyone who wants "to get his ear in" on tunings would find it particularly useful.

It does sound forceful, doesn't it?  What with the flat mounting of the reeds, I guess it has all the benefits of a Louisiana box with two stops closed.

Rob.

Well, the wondrous bandoneon tuned 1040 has arrived and is a truly great piece of Microbotting; the Soundcloud that Mike put up for our delectation does'nt do justice to it's rich rumbling sound. It's going to get played to death for a bit.. ;D :||: :||: :||:
