I am trying to learn girl in clover, but cant come to terms with 12 8 timing could someone come to my aid?....Hubert

I think you'll find that's how the top musical conservatoires teach it, anyway. ;)

It's only in 12/8 because I transcribed it that way from Martin's video, but Martin's playing seems to me to be very clearly in that rhythm.
12/8 is like a slowish (in this case) 4/4 with each beat divided into 3 instead of 2. Martin's mostly hitting basses/chords on the main 4/4 beats so it's easy to follow that.
I didn't transcribe Martin's grace notes, of which there are many, and without which the tune isn't the same at all (as I discovered when trying to play it), so do listen to the video, and perhaps I should revise my ABC.
