That looks like a 1930s model hohner, the one with bakelite buttons, and reversable knobs. They only ever shipped them to australia apparently. Left handed too

I've never thought of playing my one row like that (upside down)....should be interesting, I'm off to give it a try  ;)

I tried it that way 26 years ago, and have continued to do so ever since, works much better. No need for clothes pegs to hold the stops out either, just let gravity do the job.

On a more serious note, it might be upside down, but it's good to see a melodeon in a mainstream magazine - rather than in 'Bellows pumping monthly'  ;)

 Now that is a revelation, I often wondered why music written for bodhran players was in 66/6 time. It used to be said that rock and roll that was the devils music. Now it is the domain of  bodhran players with two left hands.
