Title: Upload A Picture?
Post by: Cardiff Pauly on October 07, 2014, 01:40:27 PM
I use an iPad, an I am struggling to upload pictures of my Beltuna Sara 3, currently being advertised in "Buy & Sell". It keeps telling me my file is too big. Any help/advice would be much appreciated!
Cheers!  8)

I have taken to making an album of pics on Flickr, making sure it's public access, and then posting the link on here.
Seems to work for me.

Well Pauly, we are in the same boat. I think it's something to do with compression :(

There are websites where you can resize pictures yourself, quite painlessly. Here's one (http://www.shrinkpictures.com/).

Yes, it will indeed work. BUT - you are then at the mercy of Flickr and Yaboo. If Flickr goes down, you lose the links. Even temporary glitches will cause your pics to disappear for a while.

Prior to May 2013 I used Flickr a lot for showcasing my photos, but then Yaboo chief exec Marissa Mayer decided it needed 'improving' and issued instructions to that effect to her software engineers. Result: a chaotic ill-thought out rebuild full of bugs and design faults which have never really been properly put right since. I hardly use Flickr now.  :(

Oh yes, I heartily concur. The new Flickr is nowhere near as user friendly as it's predecessor, but it still allows me to post good quality pics, that can be enlarged as required. I prefer this, as punters can then see the condition of a box, or whatever in all it's glory.

imgur.com is another good option for uploading pictures for use in forums.
