Fungusface's post made me think. While I have made donations in the past on the two occasions when I have sold an instrument through melodeon.net, I kind of take melodeon.net for granted. It is always there, it is extremely informative and useful and I would miss it immensely, if it wasn't there.

But I don't do anything to support it financially (other than donations following sales.) I have no idea how much it costs to run, but it concerns me that Theo and Clive may be out of pocket. So, conscience pricked and small donation made. I shall try and remember to do so again at occasional intervals.

I echo fungusface in his sentiments that I to have had much valuable info but have not yet made a contribution, can I take it that, if the need ever did  arise for further funds to run or improve the forum that a general request a top up  would be posted

Indeed it would.  But just ton re-state we have no need for extra donations for the foreseeable future.
