Title: Error 403
Post by: rees on March 28, 2015, 10:15:42 AM
I get Error 403 every time I try to reply to a post and have to clear my cache.
This can be quite annoying when I'm replying to several posts in succession.
I'm using Firefox. Any ideas?

Was ok for me yesterday. Try these:
Re-start your browser
Re-start your computer
Re-start your router

Aye I've done all those things.
It's been going on for a month or more and happens on two different computers.

When I get home tonight I'll check to see if your IP addresses are blocked.

Anyone else having this problem?

Restarting router/computer/browser will have no effect as this is an error response from the server.

The error response comes from the server, but the error could be caused by the browser sending it cookies it didn't like, or a request referring to a cached entity that was no longer valid.

Less technical summary: Clearing cookies and caches is therefore a useful extra thing to try, though in the case of cookies it might be useful to delete only those related to melodeon.net and be ready to have to use your password to login.

And it has sometimes resolved this error.

My problem was that every time I replied to a post I had to clear my cache. Somewhat tedious clearing the cache 10 times if replying to 10 posts in half an hour.

It does seem better this week.

For anyone getting 403 error I should be able to fix it if you give me the following information:

1 The date and time the error occurred
2 The text of the error message, or a screenshot.

If it is happening more than once the time of one instance is sufficient.

Without both items of information I can do nothing.
