Title: « La Grande Rencontre » 7-10 May, Montreal

Not a huge focus on melodeons or accordions this year, except for an appearance by Raynald Ouellet on Thursday night. But lots of other goodies.

Normand Miron and his Mononcles are playing for the Friday night dance. My gang are playing for the big Saturday night "Québec-Irlande" along with De Temps Antan and Irish band Comas.

In anticipation of tonight's award, here is a piece on Raynald Ouellet (http://www.ledevoir.com/culture/musique/439358/entrevue-raynald-ouellet-accordeoniste)  in today's Le Devoir, with videoclip of a performance at a festival in Italy last year. (Article in French, obviously.)

Seemingly effortless playing, brilliant, thanks for posting the link

Lovely - thanks Stiamh - good luck for Saturday, no pressure with that one. I took my eldest son to see De Temps Antan near us in Gloucestershire a few months back. They were superb and "Le Fee des Dents" has entered his repertoire.

Thanks Stiamh, mine of information as ever, can't wait to get there in a couple of month's time :P and particularly looking forward to Racines. And that's yet another good cellist seduced by the one row accordéon!

.… I thought french milk teeth were turned into coins, by a mouse?  ::)
