Hi everyone
I was trawling soundcloud the other day as I do and found this duo called Duo Tanghe Coudroy.
I have heard them on youtube before and this looks to be the album demo and I really love this tune.
https://soundcloud.com/duo-tanghe-coudroy/la-sourde
It's called "La Sourde" and I have been trying to work it out and managed to get the A part but the B part with all its arpeggios and fancy stuff has me stumped. Can anyone help shed any light on it who has a better ear than I haha? The Tune can be heard clearly from 1:30
Thanks for reading and enjoy the recording

Just came across the video again today. Oh, that's just lovely.

I recently downloaded their album, Les Oiseaux de Nuit and I think it is quite probably the most beautiful melodeon album I have. Both the melodeon and guitar are exquisite!
-
That is so good ! Far beyond my abilities but I'd love to get the dots, and must source the download.

A year on, and now it's going to be my tune for August 2019. Amazingly, found a version in ABC on the Session and transposed it to play on D/G. Should be a challenge for a guitarist mate as well.

Wow, what a lovely recording!
It's probably too hard for me to play, but if you feel like sharing the dots for D/G (with chords?) it might encourage some of us here to attempt to learn it.
Nothing like a challenge, so they say.

Will certainly share - I need to look at chords again over the weekend.

I’d be interested in the dots for this. Any idea what key box it was originally played on?

I found the melody here -

It says key of Fdor there - I have transposed it to Em. The melody is not proving a problem apart from a couple of tricky bars in B part, but I'm a long way off Tanghe Coudroy. I will try and put my dots online soon...with chords but I'm still arguing with myself about those !

Here is my version including chords for D/G - thirds out. Options I use in brackets. I am playing it on my Dony with D# and E push. I've used the ABC from the Session version , which is based on the main accordion theme. I havent yet transposed the duo playing it to this key -I'm uncertain about bars 21 and 23 in particular.
I'm sure that there are other possibilities for the chords and I haven't yet tried cross chords or right hand chords. I'm a long way off recording this !

Thanks Julian. Made me pick up a melodeon again after a lay off. Just listened again, and no wonder you had to think about chords, it's much more about counterpoint than specific harmonies. Many pedals or descending bass notes. Great stuff. Wish I had a friendly guitarist with a shared interest.

Great stuff Julian. Thanks for posting the dots. I'll give this a play this evening (:)
