Hi folks,
This month's selection, first last month's runner's up
- The South Wind; a 1700's Irish music classic courtesy of Lester's wonderful blog: http://lesters-tune-a-day.blogspot.co.uk/2016/12/tune-463-south-wind.html - runner up last month
.... and for the other three, we're off to the Lewes pub session tune books...
How about
- The Keel Row - Here's Liam Robinson playing this quicker than I probably would... rapper dance speed, I guess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kauUXCDztjM . Slowed down, it's a classic hornpipe too of course.
- The Villagers - a jig I hadn't heard before, I must confess. I rather like it. Second half of this set from Malcolm Woods https://youtu.be/E1YSyG_c7rY?t=1m11s
- Morpeth Rant - The first tune of Bill's set here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLlwpBnpF6Y ; one of my favourite tunes from North England, and I can't believe we haven't done it yet!
Music for all those three can be found on the Lewes collection, but I kind of found them here: http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/pub-session-tunes/idxv2bs.htm
Happy voting!

My speed is a little slower on the keel row https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpLsxjjkWZY&feature=youtu.be
this is just a piece of a ceilidh on PEI this summer before camera dies, missing the triplets and hold notes I add further in.
I know DON"T TAP SO LOUD! (:)
I think of the tune as a brisk row.
highland fling I think? ;)

I tried to view this but was unable to. It seems to be classified as a private video. Would it be possible to change the viewing status?

I know the Keel Row as a song we learnt at school, but I'd hate to have to try to sing it at that pace!
