Hi guys any info on this marvelous looking club box for sale on ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201827487371?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Is it a budget hohner copy? I read somewhere that swiss made boxes were rather good but i think it was swiss made hohners?
many thanks

It looks well made, that with it's Swiss origin should mean it is well built.
The makers plate says among other things Ton C, so it will be CF.

Hi theo was hoping you would cast your expert eye over it, worth a bid or two
many thanks

Josef Nussbaumer (a renowned maker of the Swiss Schwyzerörgeli accordions) moved to Bachenbülach in 1920, and a later incarnation of the business traded as "Bachenbülach" from 1937-39, and then as "Tell" (notice the crossbow logo!) from 1941-54.
The style of the grille would remind me of instruments made in the 1930's by Hohner's top builder/designer Venanzio Morino who, though born in Italy, worked in Switzerland from 1900 to 1928.
Of course, the "Club" system originated in Switzerland...

Here are the photos from ebay so they don't disappear after the auction is over.

And lo and behold, here's one badged "Nussbaumer" that's just turned up on German eBay: NUSSBAUMER - Akkordeon - Carl Geisser Zürich - Handharmonika Grossist -TOP (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NUSSBAUMER-Akkordeon-Carl-Geisser-Zurich-Handharmonika-Grossist-TOP-/311817109470?hash=item4899bf7fde:g:46kAAOSwdGFYvaUy)
With two registers behind the keyboard of this one too...
-
And another Nussbaumer, with a metal grille and no registers this time: Old Swiss diatonic button accordion needs service "Nussbaumer" (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Old-Swiss-diatonic-button-accordion-needs-service-Nussbaumer-/132188350506?hash=item1ec70a282a:g:UbQAAOSwjqVZE6N8)

What about this one, then?

It looks like a smasher to me, but I'm spent up!
Sorry that was the wrong picture, try his one:

I did wonder... ::)
It has the look of a 1940's model.

Well, I just bought that strange Swiss machine. Will let you know what it is like when it turns up. From the picture, it looks a bit like my old Hohner Super-Suisse. I sold that one on eventually because it was just so heavy. It was very nicely made though, and had a good sound. Dave
