Title: My First Melodeon
Post by: Ollie on December 26, 2007, 04:46:29 PM
WOOOO!!!! I got a Pokerwork!!!  ;D ;D I got it on Saturday from Dave Jolly at www.jollybox.co.uk We went to his house to collect it. I was going to get a Scarlatti Nero but Dave said that the one he had was so rubbish, he had to send it back, so I got a hardly played, second hand Pokerwork for the same place   :D 290. It's fantastic, and I can play a few tunes already. It's got a lovely tone, and it plays really well. Dave also added extra padding underneath the buttons so they don't disappear under the keyboard. Great guy. I'll take a few pictures later. It really is nice, and it's LOUD!!  8) Parents are starting to regret this decision LOL! Here are a few piccies

It's a great box to start out on- solid, dependable and will still be going strong in many years time.

My Pokerwork is now over 25 years old and still performs brilliantly, even though a few other boxes have moved in to the house subsequently.

So a word of advice - in the years to come, when you get seduced by sexy boxes from around the world, you are allowed to succumb (we all do!), but do not trade in your Pokerwork! You will regret it.

And if you play for morris, you will find few to equal it!

Have great fun with it.

Andy

PS Your parents will come to realise what a great present it was - it just takes a few years  :)

Andy is right. Never get rid of your pokerwork - not that you're going to have any thoughts about doing that at the moment!  What a great Christmas present. If your parents complain, remind them that you could have taken up the drums instead.....

I have started on the pokerwork as well. It is my first and only melodeon.

P.S I have taken up the drums AND the melodeon, imagine how my parents fell!
