Very nice. My only criticism is on the Boxshop, instruments for sale pages. The main print is not dark enough, while the actual individual prices are almost impossible to see. The Red print is the only one I find easy to see, on those pages.

Really like the site.
SOTA would be to have embedded Youtube or Soundcloud clips for each box for sale, similar to Button Box and Liberty Bellows.
I don't know if it helps sell boxes or reduce returns, but I would expect it does.

I wonder if it is shown differently on different browsers? I'm on a windows PC using Chrome and everything looks fine.

Good point.  I'll see about getting those changed

Have you looked at main Product Description below the photos?  This is in black on white and should be readable.

The text colours should be independent of browser, though there could be differences between different displays.

It might well be my dodgy old equipment (laptop ex No 1 Son) or Google Chrome, but the opening picture of melodeons on shelving etc. seems to have been photo-bombed by some random gurner.
Scary!

It looks fine on an iPad running Safari, too.

Most impressed!

That is a temporary picture, but the random gurner is on the new one too. :-[

It looks very good on my phone, iPad and tablet. There were no problems with clarity of the text, all of the images were very clear, and the links between the pages worked well. I liked that the "Sold" page showed the selling price...but I'm just nosy!
Nice design-when is it going live?
Cheers,
Guy

Thanks for all the comments.
Guy, I don't have a date for going live, but I do have a couple of things to add:  some more photos, a bit of work on the Services menu, and a better captcha on the contact form.  I'm hoping it could be next week.

Looks clear, nicely layed out and proportioned here in the swamplands Theo, Dell D600, XP and Firefox - I thought the soundclip suggestion might 'value add' for you, certainly helpful for the potential purchaser and curious alike.

The new site can include sound clips.  Just a matter of me getting organised to make the recordings!

The move is now in progress.  The site may disappear for a while while we make the necessary changes.

Your site is down at the moment. No old or new site.

As I said, it may be off while during the changeover.

That's a lovely site Theo, it all works well on my iPad.

That was one of the motivations for doing it.  Those features come built in to most Wordpress themes.

Ah, yes. WP. That's what I use. Great tool. Which theme are you using...or would you rather not say?
I've had an issue with Jetpack mobile theme, that I can share in a PM. It's probably only because of my particular set up.

My theme is based on Sparkling theme with a few bits of custom code.

Sir John

Is that any better now John?   The main text is now black, and the prices are darker green.

Theo, the menu bar shows a pull down item named "No Link" which, when you click directly on it, leads to a "page not found" message. However the links in the menu that appears when you hover over the item (Preciosa parts 1 & 2) do work.

Hi Steve

Yes that's temporary while we make some adjustments.

In the 'bringing an old hohner back to life' section, under 'disassembly and cleaning', you have made a typo - instead of 'assess' you have 'asses'.
Apart from that, all good :)

That's great thanks Huw, really getting to the details.  Thank you.
