I have always loved the look and sound of the old Hohners, especially the presswoods, and as I prefer 3 rows, when I saw this I figured I had better buy it! It is the only one I have ever seen. I am told it is in GCF, and I am guessing the bass layout is a set of GC bass/ chords and a set CF bass/ chords, instead of the usual compromise of twelve basses. I will post more upon its arrival.

And a couple more photos:

And one of the very colorful bellows, the back side of which will probably need retaping....

From memory of these pre-war Hohner 16 bass layouts, I think (for a GCF 16 bass) you're more likely to have a typical GCF 12 bass layout on the bottom 12 buttons (i.e, F/C, Bb/Bb, C/G, A/Dm, G/D, E/Am) and then the top 4 bass buttons will go further into the sharp keys. In other words, I don't think you'll have the F/F button pair that you might expect in a GC layout. I could get out one of the 16-bass I have in storage to check this, but your box will probably arrive sooner than I can get around to that project (busy with end of term and with Christmas around the corner) - so let us know! Of course, customized layouts have always been possible. If yours is different than I predicted, I will eventually get my own examples out and photo & document them here for comparison.
By the way, what a beautiful accordion! These are a bit tall and heavy, but for styles that don't require fast bellows reversals I think they're fun to play and sound very sweet.

My friend bought the same model in perfect visual condition from Holland a month ago. For surprise it was "chromatic" button accordion grife b on the right and unexpected "chromatic" layout on bass side. Wil be remaded (back) to "diatonic" accordion some day.

It arrived....
But the wife wrapped it up like a xmas present and labeled it “from Santa.”
Best not to argue.
Stay tuned....

Yes. It is in GCF, but alas will be needing more work than I hoped. Scott, I just realized i only responded to you in my head (busy time of year in the wine biz) I think you will definitely get your hands on this box as it needs plenty more than buttons!
More when I get some rest.

Looks very cool. I will have all the button tops you need. I'm off from R.I.T. for the next few weeks if you want to drive over. Sold two presswoods this week.

I got one of them 16 bass too in GCF but not the buttons urs has with the zydeco style ..
G side is low low on mine still patching some holes and leaks from the bellows...
Eager to hear it I know mine has lots of bass work and although all treble keys play it sounded a 435ish
