I'm thinking about signing up for the EFDSS Saturday workshop series (https://www.efdss.org/efdss-education/adults/saturday-folk-music-workshops/melodeon) starting in September, taught by Hazel Askew, and wondered if anyone had any experience of them, thoughts or tips given it'd be an ongoing commitment?
Thanks

EFDSS workshop series - melodeon
I started as a complete beginner Sept 2016 and after the first 2 terms felt I had got somewhere. I continued into the next group in September 2017 and this has been really hard work as some of the others have been playing for 4 years plus. Hazel is a great teacher and during the two years when Hazel has been unable to take a session she has arranged great deps, Mel Biggs, Ollie King, Lucy Huzzard, John Spiers and Matt Quinn.

Thanks both, do you know roughly when bookings tend to open, and if the classes tend to be fully subscribed?
-
Last year bookings opened late June. I don’t think either class was fully booked last year. Although the beginners has been in previous years.

Last year I didn't hear about course until aug and was able to get place
I think dates have been set for next year important if you have to work some weekends
Ring box office and they will also talk to you about instrument hire

for dates see link in original posting Saturdays from mid September

Okay, I've a bit of time to decide then.
Cheers all.
