Title: Funeral for a melodeon
Post by: BJG on June 18, 2018, 09:12:27 AM
The title of this listing (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-hand-built-Melodian-accordion-for-spares-repairs-or-decent-funeral/253685261305?hash=item3b10d1e3f9:g:SmUAAOSwNNVbH-DR) made me smile. I wonder what kind of ceremony that would be.

If anyone comes up with such a ceremony, I like to hear about it. I then might be able to create some space in my cupboard by having such a funeral for some of the poor dismembered instruments which are "bed-blocking" in there, without feeling like a heartless b*****d!

I had seriously looked at that auction, though, wondering which manufacturers innards had been used, and whether it was worth a punt just to see, and possibly make future use of them. But the little bit of money went elsewhere on eBay, instead.

Given the near waterproof bellows taping possibly a ship burial as per Sutton Hoo ? or failing that the Viking sort.     def.   Melodeon, self puffing firelighter.

This may be the ideal opportunity to announce and expand my ecofriendly method of EOL remains disposal, Bibliomation where the deceased is incinerated fueled by the contents of their own library, into a suite of 'niche products' for "X"AD sufferers' on the same principle. For this forum the obvious contenders are Melodeomation, Accordeomation or Banjomation   'Buy dirt cheap, tinder dry squeezeboxes, it'll be cheaper than the Co-Op or the apparently endless TV advertised insurance plans'.

Er any takers for regional franchises ??

Sensible decision Edward, given the location, I may be a teeny weeny bit biased and unPC but other than the A140 not much else good comes out of there.  :o

Asbestos undies on and ready for a fast hobble gettaway >:E

Never mind the funeral for the melodeon...I have enough here to build a suitably impressive
funeral pyre to send me on my way to Valhalla.  ;)

Obviously, I'm green with envy that you have that amount of space!
