I have just booked a place, looking forward to learning something new. just a query, is it a demo, or hands on instruction?? or maybe a bit of both:? like many other members I have a selection of" projects",( wrecks).. is there any suggestions about how many we can bring!!!! just being cheeky, put me in the picture. should I ring you rees, nearer the time and ask if you need any wrecks for demo purposes..! best wishes Brian....

Please do this closer to Cornwall (:)
-
We've only got four hours so it will be mostly demo.
Perhaps we could devote the last 45 minutes or so to peruse some old wrecks and offer advice though not really time for hands on stuff.
You could all have a go at waxing reeds, that should be fun ;)
The workshop is aimed at those wishing to keep their regular instruments in good playable order.
I will be demonstrating on mostly modern instruments.
Restoration is another kettle of wax.

thanks rees, the workshop sounds like a perfect introduction to the mystery of box fettling. I may trouble you for a few spare valve leathers for the bass side and a leather corner for a bellows !! cheeky as ever .. brian..

can I give a big thankyou to rees, exploring the mysterys of the box. with a gale blowing mixed with welsh rain ,we were snug inside. rees brought a large collection of models ,that he opened up to us to show us the working bits. interesting to examine the hand made one rows that are made by rees.
someone( alan? )brought along a salterelle with a couple of notes with issues. we watched rees diagnose and replace a couple of valves(leathers) and the improve the tuning. all in all,a great learning experience , deserving of more support next time,a real confidence builder. best wishes brian..

Thanks Brian. I really enjoyed the afternoon. A small but very keen group of amateur fettlers

I would happily dig out my passport for a visit to England if I only have to go to Executer.
