Not sure if this is the right place for this. Theo?
Following up on The Man Formerly Known As Edward's suggestion I have investigated the practicality of getting Melodeon.net stickers made, to the same pattern as Steve's melnet badges..
I have located a source. The price would work out at, about, 38, plastic, secure but removable adhesive stickers for £5.00, delivered. Payment via plastic fiver in the post.
Given the batch sizes I would need 10 people interested, or 20, or 30, etc..
Anyone?
-
Not sure what I'd do with 38 of the little b*****s, but put me down for a sheet, please.

If enough people are interested much smaller batches will be possible, but I can't afford to stand to the balance [Edit: i.e., my wife wouldn't let me] and I don't want 400 of the little perishers, either.
I'll ask a local printer I know if he could manage a smaller batch.
Cost per sheet of eighteen, from the firm I have contact with, would be be about £1.60 plus delivery (I think that quantity would fit a standard letter). Minimum batch I can buy at the moment is 25 sheets.
I don't care how long it takes to move them, but I haven't got a way of keeping their availability in the public eye so, what didn't go quick would be mine forever.

Moved to General Discussion with the parallel topic about badges.

"what didn't go quick would be mine forever."
Yes, of course they would. But then you'd have more than anyone else in the whole world! Doesn't that appeal to you, even a little? "THE MELODEON.NET STICKER KING" It's a grand title!

(:) put me down for a sheet please, would prefer the sheet of 18 to the 38 but will take one of whatever you end up getting ;D

Looks like this is dead in the water. Never mind.

"Looks like this is dead in the water." ?

Need another 22 people to be interested. Maybe Steve has some?

If you mean me, I don't think I have that sort of number I could sell to, sorry. :(

Maybe you could spare a couple for Winston, though?

Not wishing to tread on anyone's toes (and tell me to bu88er off if I am); but I have a friend who could print some of these if no alternative exists...

On plastic, or vinyl media that has removable adhesive?
-
I will need to confirm, but he has printed stickers before - IIRC vinyl on a peel off backing. Sticks quite well to fabric...

What I was looking at were stickers that could be put on an instrument, etc., (securely) and peeled off after an indefinite period without damaging the surface were attached to.

They sound interesting, though.

Not that I would claim any expertise regarding glues, but I have had some experience with vinyl lettering on vehicles and signs. I've successfully removed many vinyl stickers from gloss paintwork, varnished surfaces and plain wood by gentle application of heat from a normal hair dryer.

Apologies for not responding sooner - just back at work after the long weekend.
My friend will be back at his desk today as well; unfortunately in a different office for today, but will contact him to see what says (at worst I'll hopefully see him on Friday, so will have answer by the weekend).
He has a large vinyl printer (3' - 4' width IIRC) with the print medium being roller fed, so there are no 'sheets' per se.

Once again - apologies for the long silence...
Finally managed to get in contact with my friend - he can produce the stickers at about £1.50 per A4 sheet (equivalent); how many he can get on a 'sheet' depends on the size of each sticker.

Please can you put me down for a couple of sheets?

I'm back to a more normal work pattern now (having been working from home for the last 2weeks...), so will hopefully have something fairly soon (:)

At £1.50 a sheet ..... I'll have two sheets please ;D
-
Two sheets for me please, Nick.
What about some Melodeon PlayGroup stickers and/or badges?

That should be possible, but I need to get the Melnet stuff done first! (and would also need a design...)
-
Test print of the stickers has been done (:) - will get a final price & see where to go from there...
-
I'm quite taken with the idea of different sizes, Nick.

I thought it would be worth a try - already used one of the small ones on my mobile case ;)
-
Some dimensions...
The print is about 3' wide - which allows for approx.;
- 12 of the larger (normal) size per row (size 1)
- 15 of the next size down (size 2)
- 19 of the next size down (size 3)
- 25 of the next size down (size 4)
-
Although 71 is a goodly number to make use of, I'm sure the sheets will fly out at a reasonable price. Thanks for your continued efforts.

If people wants stickers, please let me know how many (rows?) and what size - not really relevant to say A4 sheets!
Once I get an idea how many are wanted, I'll be able to get a firm price and let you all know...

I'll take a dozen of the largest, please. If you need more to make up the numbers I'll double that.
-
The big ones will be about 3 inches, then? The littlest something less than one and a half? Next up, getting to almost two, and then the second biggest at almost two and a half? (Although I suspect they're actually metric measurements?)
In which case, I'd also plump for a dozen of the biggest, plus 25 little'uns, please. I'll be clagging them all over the place, it'll drive my beloved crazy!!!!
Will you be cutting them into manageable sized sheets for posting? Should we send payment along with an A4 sized envelope with a large letter (79p ?) stamp?
Like dealing with the badges, it's going to be a lot of clart-on for you. But it will be appreciated, you can be assured!
-
(:) One row (12 stickers) of the size 1, two rows (38 stickers) of size 3 and one row (25 stickers) of the size 4 please, though might increase the quantity if you need more takers ;D
-
"though might increase the quantity if you need more takers"
That goes for me, too.
-
On order... Should have them next week (:)
-
I've a feeling that this might too late but, if not, the same order as Winster please.
-
Coo! Just noticed this. May I order the same as AnnC please? All manner of electronic payments are in my gift.
-
No problems - will contact my friend to produce the extras over the weekend...
Should have said before, the size are (approx. and from memory!)
Size 1 - 5cm
Size 2 - 4cm
Size 3 - 3cm
Size 4 - 2cm

"When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of
golden daffodils Melnet stickers"
Just received, nearly hot from the printer, quite a few stickers...
If anyone is going to be at Winster, I will have them with me (unless I forget them - which I am quite capable of doing :-[)
I will work out a price (which will be on a row basis I think, so 12x50mm will be the same as 25x20mm, etc.) excluding postage and take it from there...
-
Is anyone going to be at Winster in a couple of weeks who wants some? I know you will be Nigel ;)
Otherwise, please message me with an address I can send these to (:)
-
"a dozen of the biggest, plus 25 little'uns, please."
That's what I said previously. With a little luck, my mate might be able to collect them from you at Winster, I'll ask him.

Yes Winston, I'll collect and you can pay me in December.
-
Thank you, Nigel. You know what they say; "A friend in need is a bloody nuisance!"
-
Stickers arrived today. Definitely fit for purpose :D
