When writing a new post or PM I find that hitting return twice fails to leave a blank line between paragraphs. I need to hold the shift key down whilst pressing return twice to create the blank line. I was blaming the Firefox browser for this as I've been having a lot of problems with it for the last year, like it only remembered passwords for some of the sites I visited, others (like iCloud for my mail) needed me to log in every time I visited which was a real PITA. A recent update to Firefox miraculously cured all of the ills, except the linebreak issues on Melnet.
Firefox, Windows 10. Anybody else having problems?

Pete, what version of Java are you using (type java -version at command prompt)?

Version 1.8.0_191

Yes same here. Can you try with virtual keyboard (On-Screen Keyboard)?

On a PC? I don't know where to start getting a virtual keyboard on screen! I can now say that if I write a post in a text editor (Notepad) and copy and paste it into the post window, all of the carriage returns work perfectly. I still think this is an issue between my PC, Firefox and this forum software.

I have Firefox too, but on a Mac. The enter key adds new lines correctly.

Click Microsoft key, bottom left, and start typing on- etc and you will see it come up or you can find it in: %windir%\system32\osk.exe

Erm, okay, so now I have the virtual keyboard. Let's try the return and see what happens.
Testing, testing. That didn't work then. Not sure what that proves!

If you have any mechanical keyboard issues using the virtual keyboard negates this. The other thing it could be is that another piece of software running in the background may be causing this. Have you tried a restart and doing the edit directly after the restart?

It turns out that this is a thing unique to Firefox on this PC. Any other browser on my PC or any browser at all on any other machine I've tried doesn't have this problem. The mind boggles.

Might be worth trying a re-install?
