Just about to fit a couple of D ring strap brackets to a Hohner 4 stop and would love to hear views, advice and experience of fitting them. (ie on top behind the stop or on the back top and bottom). Thanks!

My preference is to put them both on the back of the box top one facing up and the bottom one down, photo below. Best to remove the end before fitting the bracket as the standard B&Q screws are a bit long and can stick through, I just fully screw them in, then remove them nip off the end and then refit.

I put mine on with the top ring as per Lester's photo, but the lower one on the short bottom edge with the ring pointing towards the lower corner.
This does mean that the lower ring and strap end prevent the instrument from laying flat when put down, but I personally haven't found this a problem.
I too removed the end before fitting, to check first where screws would emerge, and then do the fitting.
Photo attached.
