The Irish language TV channel, TG4, has a lot of excellent programmes about traditional music. Coming up this Sunday 16th Feb at 9.30pm is the last in the current series about musical heroes - Sé Mo Laoch, featuring superb box player Máirtin O'Connor, he of the supernaturally fast flying fingers.
In the UK we can watch this live (on the internet) or afterwards for 30 days on TG4 player. English subtitles are available, but the music speaks for itself of course!
I've found these programmes fascinating on lots of levels, a real insight into how people work musically. The one about guitarist Steve Cooney revealed his own take on musical notation which was completely mystifying, but compelling to watch how he was able to note something down (in the programme about singer Pádraigín ní Uallacháin) and then play it straight back.
Here's a taster:

Thanks for that, all 18 episodes are here for anyone who's got about 16 hours free:

Thanks for the link! I can listen to, enjoy, and understand the music--even if I can't understand most of the language!

There is an option for subtitles, Dennis. Or did you mean something else?
