For some time I’ve had the idea of an online melodeon class. What better time than now to bring this into the world?
I'm hosting 2 trial Melinars this Wednesday 18th (2-2:40pm GMT) and Thursday 19th (7-7:40pm). The topic and content for both will be the same, just choose the time that's best for you. Suitable for keen improvers and intermediate DG melodeon players.
As this is a trial event, hopefully leading to further Melinars, I am operating a 'pay as you feel' policy. Follow the link below for full details and sign up:

Hope to see some of you online!

Sign up to the Melinars is going really nicely - thanks to everyone who's signed up already.
Just to reiterate, sign up is FREE :-) And also, you DON'T need a Zoom account in order to participate (I'm learning a lot, very quickly, this week!!). You'll be sent a link via email invitation, click on the link and it'll open the Zoom meeting in your internet browser (safe and easy for technophobes!)
On another note, all this new free time I'm experiencing is really given me a chance to put into action lots of things on the old online to-do list. One of those things is setting up a Patreon account.
Patreon is a membership platform that allows creators and artists to earn a monthly income by providing exclusive rewards and perks to their subscribers, or "patrons". There are different membership "tiers" offering different perks for different pockets.
What sorts of EXCLUSIVE membership content would y'all like to see? Let me know by replying to this thread :-)

I just hosted my first ever Melinar! Overall a successful way of delivering content and everyone who could join us found value in the online lesson.
But it wasn't without some initial technical gremlins for some participants. But, hey that's the point of a trial! Find out how to overcome technical issues and how to become better acquainted with Zoom before tomorrow night's edition

To anyone who was part of last week's trial broadcasts, thank you so much! I'm working on the video and it will be available tomorrow!

Dear All
The feedback from last weeks trial Melinars has give me such a warm glow! And some of you really went to town and gave me some really great ideas to think about. The old brain cells are working overtime!
Here is a video where I talk in more detail about what's on offer if you choose to become one of Mel's Angels:

The name by the way has been around for a while. It comes from my loyal student core, who wanted to be in their own melodeon gang! I liked it and adopted it for my Patreon patrons to welcome them in.

Calling all session players - does any of this sound familiar...
"It goes too fast!"
"I feel left out"
"I can't join in"
"I hardly know any of the tunes being played"
You're the Gazelle in with the Big Cats - but have no fear, my Session Survival Skills toolkit is here!

This month's Melinar's are all about solving air button issues and establishing rhythm in your right hand chord accompaniments.
I'm sure most of you have been stumped by the air button at one point - what does it do? How can I use it without having to stop to take breath? When I use it, I can't hear the notes...
I've got some great exercises up my sleeve to show you how to co-ordinate your left thumb so you can overcome your air button woes! Infamously quoted by Andy Cutting in his workshops since I showed him something he wasn't aware of - what an accolade! 8

There's quite an archive of resources and Melinar recordings built up over the last 8 months of running these short and sweet tutorial broadcasts. You can unlock the content by signing up to the Archangel or Cherub tier of my Patreon.
