Dunno if this is a good place for this, but arising from a comment by Chris Ryall about multiple quotes and sub-quotes in posts, may I recommend to those who don't already do this:
If you click the "quote" flag to respond, you can highlight (by mouse or shift+navigation keys) and then delete passages of the quoted text so that the whole thing doesn't have to appear time after time.
Not sure? Try some out to get the hang of it.
Clive/Theo, is this helpful?
BLT.

Actually all you need is the delete (it deletes forward) or backspace key. Both are grossly underused in all these forums! There are far more queries (here in particular) on stuck melodon keys than on these possible rusted up tools on one's keyboard. ;) Delete and press either (in Windows) - deletes the selection.
I try to quote 3 lines max, and almost routinely delete prior quotes. Don't think I ever quote pictures (there must be exceptions). f I can get in next post I generally don't quote at all (though Anahata and Steve F somehow beat me to it ... mysteriously often) ???
'Bandwidth' hasn't been an issue for some time - but communication still is. Up to you. :|glug my 2 p'n'th

Agree this is a practice to be encouraged. Just remember to be careful not to delete parts of the quote tags - the little bits in square brackets
every [quote] at the beginning of a quotation needs to be matched by a [/quote] at the end or it will all go pear-shaped.
(Never could understand what's so wrong about the shape of a pear - now pineapples there is a dangerous shape)

Actually that's why I'm still here posting. Chickened out of Wednesday night's flight into Bangkok when someone lobbed a 'pineapple' into a train - just 2 stops from my hotel. I mean - my melodeon could have been damaged! :o
