Title: Email address when we get notifications

Clive/Theo

The originating email address in the notification emails has now become:

clive.williams@rectanglered.com

Is this what you expect?

I discovered it as my email rules stopped working!

Actually, I've just looked back at my archives, and it used to come from

theo.gibb@gmail.com

so I guess it is no real deal....!

I wondered why I had stopped getting email notifications of PMs in the last few days. On checking, I found my BT spam filter was kicking notifications from Clive's address into the long grass. I've sorted it now.

   SendMessageTo(oblivion)

We should really use something@melodeon.net and arrange for mail to that address to come to both Clive and myself.

yes you should really, you don't really want your own email addresses paraded across the internet, you never know where it might get to.... :(

Jolly good - it's now changed to melodeonforumadmins at (name of this website), so you might want to update your mail rules again!  Replying to that address will currently reach Theo and myself, though we can turn that off if we have to. But since both Theo and myself pump our email through gmail, I don't think we'll get a spam issue - the google spam filters are really exceptional.

A victim of the restore I did a couple of weeks ago. I've changed it back now  :Ph

I've changed this again to reply-using-website-not-email@melodeon.net to stop people replying to these notifications by email and thinking their message has received the intended person (it doesn't - it goes to Theo and me!).

Now anyone who replies to a notification using email will get a 'user not found' bounce message in their email.
