My project pokerwork has an interesting scribble on the G reed block - a date and an arrow pointing at what I expected to be the D/E reed (5th button), turns out this shows when the box was clubbed as the reed plate is D/D. So can it be tuned to D/E or does it need replacing?
-
It is may be possible, depending on how much metal is on the reed, but its a great test of your skill with a file!

deep breaths and......... off you go, feel the rhythm of your file and watch those cents multiply.

...see I understand that now I've been on the squeezebox maintenance course. (:)

Hey Sandy is that what you learnt in Devon ?
The one I went to with Theo and Rees, all we learnt about was GLUE !
I'd leave it to blokes like Rees or Theo. :|glug
Although on second thoughts. P'raps that's why I only learnt about glue. :|bl

We did glue as well, the best recommendation was for non-solvent glue for sticking valves on, I mean non-solvent where is the fun in that ::)

My world doesn't seem quite the same since I've gone non-solvent.

Quite right gentlemen, think solvent appreciation, not solvent abuse ;D

That is a slur on our characters.
You also learned about screwdrivers.

I've got a universal one, guaranteed to fit anything, including those evil torx things with a pin in the middle.

Hi guys, I'm pretty new 'round these parts so not averse to asking dumb questions. Now, I know what a 'club' system box is, but how do you 'de club' a melodeon ??? I assume a 'pokerwork' is a two row box, whereas a club system is two and a bit rows. I'm doin' me level best to keep up, but this one's got me beat. Explain someone, please! Enjoying the site, BTW and hope to meet some more of yez at the Liverpool commando bash.

The pokerwork I bought off ebay had a glichton (sp) button on the 6th button on the G row ie it played the same note on both push and pull. This is one of the things that defines the Club melodeon. De-clubbing involves tuning the pull note up a tone - on my D/G pokerwork it is currently D in both directions and needs to be D/E. Hope this helps.

Is this an age thing, Lester, the young here will be out clubbing on a Saturday night while the rest of us sit at home talking about de-clubbing.
