Yay! Sandy's a great player, and still using the little 48 bass that he learnt on - though I don't doubt that it's gone through a few changes in its time. But shows what can be done on such a small box! He's one special musician.

Yes, good tune, but oh those cheesy midi basses! ;D

oh those cheesy midi basses
Agreed - they never really work do they? But the lad's a good player, and it'd be nice to hear him play that tune without hamming it up on the left hand,
-
Oh yes it was indeed nice playing.
-
i can never understand why they play the midi basses, why dont they just play the real thing, they paid for em!
-
Oh I don't know, Graeme's midi sounds pretty good.
-
I think Graeme plays his midi setup very well, in fact he's a quite brilliant player, but to my ear there's always a false, almost hollow or empty sound that a midified piano bass gives out. I think it's a lot to do with the current standard of technology and is why I believe Graeme's moving onto the Limex system (which I'm looking forward to hearing and trying for myself very soon).
I do believe that a well positioned microphone on a standard accordion bass end is a much more satisfactory sound - it's a purely personal opinion - so that people can hear the whole accordion being played.

A great tune and goes so well with many other greats. I can't get near it on the box but an making headway with it on the moothie.

Been using midi bass for about a hundred years and just getting the hang now....try fundimental bass volume on the sound module at 127,chords at 68 volume, and on the amp keep the bass high and treble low...also a wee bit reverb if poss....brilliant...no more tinny bass as in the youtube clip....TomC
