Title: Bellini CBA - Italian or Hohner-made?
Post by: Christopher K. on September 10, 2011, 07:55:37 PM
So I have a photo of an old Hohner CBA, which I think might be Model No. 2765 or 2865 because there is no model name painted on it anywhere and its configuration matches those two models in the appendix of History Unfolds. Don't be thrown by the grille, which appears on a few different Hohner models from the period.

Then there's this accordion, badged Bellini. It looks very similar, and very much like a Hohner product.

I have seen Bellini piano accordions, made in Italy, for sale on Ebay and elsewhere but they are from a later decade. I am trying to determine whether this Hohner-built CBA is related to the company that sold Bellini piano accordions, or if it was just one of the phony Italian names Hohner used to sell accordions. There is scant, if any, info about either Bellini on the web! I'm also curious to know whether the Bellini badge is connected with Tony Serbellini of Chicago, Ill, co-founder of Crown Accordion Co. and Imperial.
