Title: iPad Tunebook problem
Post by: Andy Next Tune on February 07, 2012, 08:59:41 PM
Downloaded and started using Tunebook on my ipad2 a week or two ago.
Came to use it today and found it wouldn't play a tune!
All other apps on the iPad produce sound, but not tunebook.
The volume is turned up, instrument selected, click play and Nothing!

Even tried turning off and on (old habits!) to no avail.

Any inspiration would be appreciated!

Thanks, Andy

When you say you turned it off and on did you actually restart the iPad ie hold the power button down til a switch off slider appears then switch it off, and then restart. Sorry if this is grandma egg sucking stuff!

Has another quick look and under the Tunebook guitar icon, where you select the instrument noise for playback, there is a volume slider which is not tied to the iPad volume controls so if it is turned right down no matter what you do with the iPad controls will have an effect.

I can make my iPad have the same symptoms ie no sound for Tunebook but iPod App is OK. I did this

Started Tunebook
Double click the home button to show the App switcher at he bottom of the screen
Swipe it to the right to show the audio controls
This shows the Tunebook icon on the right and a Mute button on the left
If I press the Mute it mutes Tunebook but not the iPod app

Hope this helps.

Sorted! and I thought Windows was obscure!!!

The little slide switch next to the volume button turns off some sound effects but NOT audio playback.
So it turns off Tunebook but not iTunes etc etc.

Friend was playing with the iPad yesterday with view to purchasing one and must have moved the switch!

Thanks for inspiration to continue hunting, Lester.

PS My ipad audio controls have no mute button. The one on the left locks the screen to prevent rotation if iPad is moved.

Ah!  the switch in question has dual usage depending on a setting in "Use Side Switch to:" in General Settings. Mine is set to lock screen rotation rather than to mute. Glad it's fixed.

And when you change the setting, the mute button appears in the audio controls !

There's intuitive!
