BCC# with midi bass
« on: November 04, 2008, 10:42:44 AM »

I love the 1 row 4 stop for what it is and it is my favorite melodeon.
I have come to realise that for virtually all of my English tune playing the D/G 2 row 8 bass is fine, the limitations are down to me or not that important and it is small and portable

Now we move on to the rest of the musical world:
I have  C/F and Eb/Bb boxes but it still lots of music I can't play in the way say a fiddle or English concertina could and so my thoughts have turned towards some such instrument. The BCC# would do it for the melody side and would save too much new learning but the bass would require a larger box along the lines of the type John Kirkpatrick plays. The larger accordion bass box would seem to fail on two counts, learning a new bass system and size and so to the BCC# with a Streb type 8 or 12 button bass side.
Any thoughts?
