Amoriental - new developments in CBA...

Recently came accross the latest project of French Accordion designer, Thierry Bénétoux - he's calling it the Amoriental...

It seems it was developed to cope better with the microtones and specific pitch demands of Arabic/Oriental music - I think the chin registers act as some kind of quick shift mechanism. Thought I'd mention it here - primarily due to the bass arrangement, which looks some kind of minimalistic free bass... gawd knows how it works, I assume the black/white buttons are a clue... :-\

There's a few clips on YouTube... here, here and here...

Curious to see if/how some of these innovations (such as the bass setup) find their way into diatonics...
