And today we have

William Taylor's Tabletop Hornpipe
Very nice, Lester!

BTW, have you run out of melodeons to fettle?  >:E

Far from it, I have two customer boxes in my workshop along with a couple of project boxes. Fortunately I am doing bellows taping today which has a number of "waiting for glue to dry" breaks in it the way I do it so I am getting ahead of the recording schedule  ;)

This photo shows haw the factory do it.
Mine is the same as Lester's i.e. without the keyboard cutouts. I can't say that I've ever noticed the muffled effect but now, of course, I expect I'll be listening for nothing else!

If it weren't a stepped keyboard, I might take the cover off and cut some holes, but, as it is, I don't feel bold enough to start hacking it about.

Just looked at mine, seems to just be a matter of removing the treble buttons (they unscrew, sometimes of their own accord) and 4 screws and the keyboard will pop off. Then a conversation with Mr Pillar Drill and Robert your father's brother.

I will take pictures  ;)

Good lord, I didn't expect to be responsible for you hacking bits out of your lovely Elphique!  However it will be interesting to hear the difference...

I must admit I had never noticed the difference until I made that particular video. But my boxes are what I practice my skills (or lack there of) on prior to unleasing them on customer's boxes. Seems only fair that way  ::)

Here's my contribution.  The Grenadier & The Lady (from Dorset) - famous for its inclusion in the film Far From The Madding Crowd.  Played in E minor on a Saltarelle Connemara III.
I use the low reed for most of this and add in the two MM reeds for the finale.  It's a bit squeaky if you play it in E minor on the M reeds so thank goodness for the L!!
WARNING!  I sing on this one!!

I must say you have courage! If it was a rule that we all had to sing with our melodeons, I don't think there would be many posts!!
I enjoyed that....thankyou

This was the first tune that sprung to mind. A bit of an experiment and probably a marmite tune.
Not sure about all of the chords but it was fun to try

enjoy!

and there I was thinking it was a secret base inside a volcano where melodeon world domination was plotted. ;)

It is,  the video was shot just after the sliding roof disguised as a lake had been opened to let in the light.

Here are a couple of Bob Cann tunes - why not "Play a Bob Cann tune" theme of the month?

Played on the three voice Bafetti binci.

Very tasty! And that box sounds not entirely unlike Bob Cann's.
