There was a suggestion a while back on Facebook, that you and I should get a trio together with Simon Ritchie.

You'll be needing a caller then...or a beer fairy.... :|glug

Just catching up after a busy weekend:
Glad to hear you've got playing again.
Thought you might have rinsed away all the brain cells with that free beer  ;D
As if......!

My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

Not taken a melodeon out of the bag for 4 weeks now!.... not like me! ... longest layoff other than injury for 18 years! ..... need to re-excite the need to play a tune!     :-\ :-\ :-\
DTN

Something that always helps me to bash out a tune amidst moments of inspirational dearths--is for kids: they seem to cull or coax the tunes...when I'm feeling unplayful.  It's one reason--perhaps a big reason--why I play melodeon at all!

Not my turn, I bought my round in Durham in 1978......

BTW I put my box away for nearly 10 years, then got it out again for Eborfidlers missus birthday or summat like that do - and wondered 'why on earth did I stop playing???'

As you can see from my raft of posts in Theme otm this month , there's no stopping me now!

Someone here a few years ago posted "keep the box out of the case, near the tea kettle" or some approximation of that.

That is what I have done and it's funny, you always end up picking it up for 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there, pretty much every day, even if you don't plan a real "sit down" practice session.

I agree - 6 years ago my better half said 'why you dont play your guitar anymore'. Answer 'it's in the loft....'. Hence it came out of the loft, now lives in the living room ('the lounge'.....), and gets played most days!

Calm down Ebor..... sorry to say the event has passed.
I like to lubricate my fellow squeezers but it was a once in a lifetime event.
.....til next time  ;)
