Heights of Dargai

Lester-have you modified the keyboard of your L'Elfique? Though it is a rainy Sunday morning, I think I'm seeing slots in the video, rather than spots before the eyes; and it sounds a bit different. If you have, I'm thinking of doing the same and would welcome any advice on "how to" without b****g up the instrument.

Loving the series, by the way.

Try to make time today

Nice, Lester!
What is the box - is it a C/F pokerwork painted blue? It sounds lovely.  (:)

Thanks  (:)

It was a particularly ratty pokerwork I got of eBay. As an experiment I removed the chrome (rust) work and filled the corners with body filler then sprayed it all. Indeed it is my C/F box.

Thanks Lester, keep it up! Last week's La Marianne has inspired me to finally learn it to find that it's surprisingly simple and totally satisfying. Since the mystery of the pants was revealed, another question has been nagging away at me for a while.
You play a blue c/f that you call the Oxford Erica, but it looks like a Pokerwork, and I think you described it as a pokerwork in a recent message, but talked of filling in the corners.
Surely you didn't use filler to make an Erica look like a pokerwork? If so it looks like more than the corners are filled. Or is this one of your weird hybrids?, thanks, Steve

Opps! Oxford Pokerwork  :|bl

It is called that because I bought it off eBay from the sister of the deceased Dyk Brooker, who was well known around the Oxford folky scene. I was in terrible condition when I bought it so did a lot of work on the case to make it presentable and I sprayed it Oxford Blue in his memory.

Write up in Dyk in te Oxford News

that's a relief, I think my imagination was running a bit wild there.
I really like the Cochine Chine too - I think that's another one I should try.

Lester, are you taking requests? Can I put a bid in for Mount Hills? It was  played it at the MAW Friday session last year, and I liked it so much, but I don't know it at all. (Probably have done it again at Witney before this gets anywhere near the top of your list, but if you don't ask, you don't get, eh?) I had a go at this mornings, playing along with you.Not that I could whistle it now, it has gone from my head, but I think I could join in if it were played. Thanks so much for making these videos, I'm a chump not to have got onto them before.  :-\ Lx.

Lester's Tune-a-Day apologises for the late delivery of today's tune, due to leaves on the line and YouTube doing "maintenance".
Normal service will resume as soon as possible.
