Thanks Lester, I was attracted by that wacky name, turned out I "knew" it (perhaps from 34 years of Whitbys)! One of the great values of this thread for me has been putting names to regular session tune, it's become a superb resource.

Sally Sloane's Jig aka Trip to Cottingham

Thanks for posting the tune Lester. The jig must've originated in the UK and then travelled to Australia - and if you'd like to hear how Sally actually played it on her one-row box then you can listen to John Meredith's recording here. I find the first few bars of her version quite tricky to play. Those who met her say that Sally was quite particular about how she played her tunes, so I'm on a little quest to pass on this bit of her musical legacy. Cheers Ian
