Here's one more effort from me for this month whilst I'm in Nautical Tunes mode. This is a type of ragtime piece called The Schooner. I'm told it was written by a Canadian musician but I can't remember their name, I'd appreciate it if any one can help.

Good job. I liked it; it's one I'd like to learn one day.

Messing around with my newly acquired Lilly from Theo, I came up with this - a bad workman always blames his tools and this is true in this case - the box is too good for me! Anyway, from Bampton-on-sea, I give you a one-take-only attempt at...

You do yourself an injustice, I thought it was well executed with plenty of life about it. I'd be really pleased if I could play it as well.  :||:

Thanks! What I mean is that I'm only starting to get to grips with how quick the one-voice Lilly is to speak. It's so responsive that it's showing my inaccuracies when it comes to timing. A great box for me though, everything I liked about the Hohner Liliput but with more refinement. I need to like it though, there'll be no more melodeon purchases from me for the next decade or so...

I like this tune, it can be translated as "lament of children lost at sea" :

http://youtu.be/gs--DF23Jlc

It's played by one of my melodeon neighbour here in Nantes ;)

He also plays "dans le port d'Amsterdam" with one of his fellow fireman :

I liked that too. Despite the somewhat muffled audio, I admired the tone of your box

As far as I'm aware it's the same grill design and 'C' on the bellows that it has been for some time - It's probably just the gloom of my low quality recording that makes it seem different!

Thanks for the positive comments!

Here's another straggler drifting in....a tune that I recorded a few years back, improved upon here, hopefully, with the same box, my old trusty Hohner 'Proto-Corona' in F#BE with some new drier tuning: Captain Thompson
