It's my Birthday today that's the truth
And I play a Dino Baffetti
My missus has bought me an FR18
And I'm getting a little bit sweaty.

LOL

If you're very careful, it might just sound like a melodeon.......

Still squeezing after all these years.
Mostly on hohners , with a couple of Dinos and a smattering of anglos - and now a Jeffries duet

George, thats just like William McGonigle stuff!  'Oh wonderful silvery bridge of the Tay. etc'

It was in 1979
Which will be remembered for a very long time
When Pikey first learned to play
in his own inimitable way
the tune I hear you say
was once played by Jona Lewie
who when he wasn't stopping cavalry
Had a hit with a shuffle from down by the sea
Which Pikey used to play on his D/G
But in the key of A which as you see
Became a famous speciality
Of young (now not so) Pikey
Which he would play on the silvery Tay
if it was not so far far away
Even if he went by train
It wouldn't really take the strain
Getting there is so pain
Now I've gone off on one again
I think I'll go back to Limericks
'cos this style of poetry can make you feel sick
and also an drive you round the bends
Because it's so d*mn hard to make it end.

 >:E

PS George, I hope you liked your ode!  ;)

Pikey  thanks for your kind but greatle exagerated words

It is our Nick's birthday today
So let's give three cheers and hurray.
I hope he can master
his new Roland blaster
FR65, not 18, I'd say!

Those at the Melodeon Ball
Arrivals, the riff -raff an all
Were asked to stop writing which is very exciting
'cos Witney has a very big hall

Am wearing five coats at the moment Pikey.
For those who don't know, refer to Arrivals at the melodeon players ball.

A bit late to the party, here's an ode to the art of squeezebox face-pulling:

There was a young lady called Grace
who suffered from ‘Melodeon Face’
For a cure she was yearning
but she just kept on gurning
and frowning all over the place

Re: "2 voice Octave boxes - Opinions saught."

Trials of a West Riding melodeon purveyor
(to be recited in broad Yorkshire)

English spelling wi' problems is fraught
So when Jon says opinions are "saught"
Uz pedants will say
Schooling fails t'young today
Ee mun play by ear - what a thought!

Now, it's not that young Jon's illiterate
But his brain has too fast a bit-rate
Like all Yorkshire fellows
A-squeezing of bellows
Keyboard speed matches 'is witter-rate!

Excusez-la!

there is a lad from Gateshead
of old hohners he has a full shed
if they sound like a fart
he takes them apart
and tunes with aplomb
'till the flatulance has gone!

Who owned a magnificent Hohner
With squeezing prolific
to tunes quite specific
A happy (and loud) Hohner owner

Almost true:

A not-so-young lady from Surrey
like to play all her tunes in a hurry
she played ‘Speed the Plough’
‘till it started a row
and her husband went out for curry
