Kiwi Rental
« on: October 23, 2012, 12:47:48 PM »

A bit of a long shot this...and I'm doing it well in advance and may repeat at intervals if permitted. Oh, what? Yes, get a move on.

Early next year we will be doing our biennial visit to the kids in New Zealand, for a month. Staying in the Aukland area, prehaps a week in the Cambridge area. Does ANYONE know whether it's possible to hire a DG melodeon for a few weeks? I was quite happy to set off previously without my fiddle but am really not looking forward to being 'boxless' for 4 weeks.Taking mine is not an option  ::)...damage/cost etc etc.

Our son is not musically minded so no use putting him on the job! ::)

Be really grateful if any one has any leads for me to follow up,
Lynne.

I wonder if this association might have some leads?

I'm gobsmacked - but not really surprised, melnetters are a helpful friendly bunch I know. Lyra and I are in communication but if no luck there I shall try the other leads - mind you as Lyra says she knows a man who knows everyone with a box in NZ I think she may well be the woman I need!

Fingers crossed!

He he - but this is not lending to a stranger - I actually know Lyn from other circles (isn't the world weeny?), so it will be in good hands, if borrowed.

Incredibly friendly country. Attach a 2008 session shot from Christchurch, S Island. The trumpet player wasn't tall and would nudge me off my stool, climb on it and blast out a "break" on his horn. The guy in charge was equally friendly and wouldn't let me buy a drink after the first one. Sadly I think their pub tumbled in the earthquake.

Er .. are the two sessions in Wellington .. still both at 8pm .. on same night?  ::)

BTW - I simply took my Oakwood as hand baggage and put all the rest of my clobber in the hold.  ???

No - the Molly's session has folded but the one at Kitty's is still going I believe. There was a logic behind it ... one was a slowish (well ish) session of mixed tunes and the other is an Irish thrash, so I hear.

It was small town - synchronous sessions on same day - that I found .. intriguing  ;)
