hi all l am 54 yrs old l used to play melodeon frm 12 to 15 yrs old in the blaxhall ship suffolk in th 70s . l gave it up and started playing guitar and still do last week l bought a really old single row melodeon on ebay thinking l would start playing again.Guess what to my surprise l cant play it .l am going to have to learn from scratch it's so hard didnt reolise how hard it is when l was playing it seem so easy.the melodeon l bought on ebay is very old it's a diana single row to bass or chord buttons its black with silver trim old owner thought it was 1930s so is it worth a referb? its sort of in tune enough to practise on until l decide if l can learn lf l can tame it l will think to have it referbed it looks like it's seen action if only it could talk it sounds ok l would love to find out more about it it's german l know that much it's in c l bought it from a chap in lreland anyone got any idea of it's age or how l can find out that would be great l think we are going to be mates that melodeon and l cheers Ron

Still squeezing after all these years.
Mostly on hohners , with a couple of Dinos and a smattering of anglos - and now a Jeffries duet

thanks mate it is so hard used to be easy as l remember bit shocked at how hard it is to play .l am trying to learn a harvest home almost there . Old melodeon is a bit ropey which makes it harder lol have to squeeze hard to get some of the notes to sound the chord bass notes need more squeeze to get a sound.   ron
