YES!!!!!
I've just  called the Kings Head in Mendlesham and he's happy to have us.

Please post on the thread if you will definitely will be able to make it, as I promised to let the landlord know one way or the other on Thursday.

Hopefully see you all on Friday  (:)

Andy

Andy thanks for organising this.    I'll be there providing that my poorly car is mended, looking forward to it.   It'll be late - 10 ish probably.

Anyone got the dots/ABC for the tune 'Garlands'?  I've left myself a bit short on time for learning the last two tunes, and don't know Haste to the Wedding or Garlands at all... It'd be quicker if I had the dots as a guide to my ear!  I can find dots for Haste to the Wedding easy enough, but can't find 'Garlands' at all (nice tune though!) is it known by another name??

Looking forward to it though! :-D

Liz  :|||:

We weren't supposed to send dots in advance - but if it helps here are some dots I found!

If anyone wants a lift from Stowmarket to the Mendlesham Kings Head session tomorrow night at about 7:30, I've got a couple of spare places in the car.

Please PM me with your contact details.

Sorry not to be with you all this year, but I hope you all have a lovely time. Please give Katie a cuddle from me, and perhaps spare a thought for me on Saturday as I have a gig in the middle of the Peak District and the weather forecast is looking dire (heavy snow and blizzards).  :(

I was expecting to be there today, but I have failed to shake off a bug, and really don't feel safe driving that far, in these conditions when I still feel unwell. I'm gutted, but I look forward to meeting people at some future event. :(

Saturday morning in snowy Sheffield - we have 20 cm/8 inches here (200 m elevation) and it's still snowing. Goodness knows what it's like on the moorland roads just to the west of us; I've no intention of venturing out to see. My gig in the Peak District has mercifully been cancelled by the organisers.  :Ph

Hope you all keep safe and warm in Mendlesham!

A good day. The playing for step dancing class was excellent, enjoyed last night's session in the King's Head. And it's just about stopped snowing.  Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers, you were all very helpful and friendly and had clearly put a lot of time and enthusiasm into the day.  I've not been before but will hopefully be back next year.   Joy

Well done to Katie and her band of helpers for another superb event  (:)

John Spiers and Saul Rose's finale at the concert was a 'masterpiece', probably never to be repeated.

As always, it was great to meet up with and chat with friends, old and new.

It was nice to meet a few new faces as well as the more familier. I was surprised how much I acheived in the workshops.
The concert was great and was nice to sit in the warm pub to eat my chips and chat with everyone.

Yep, a good time had by all.  I have about four tunes I must learn now, although playing them seem to come faster these days, as long as I remember how they go.
