basic chords on an A/D/G box
« on: December 18, 2012, 10:20:36 PM »

hiya, im trying to compile a very very basic chord chart for me to start practacing treble chords and arpegios across the rows of my A/D/G box, so far i have worked out, and charted these ....

A PUSH
E PULL
Bmin PULL
F# PUSH
A PULL
D PUSH
B PUSH
Emin PULL
C PULL
D PULL
G PUSH
Amin PULL

i couldnt realy see the need for a pull G or push C

as you can see, all these chords relate to the bass side of my box. can any of you guys think of any obvious chords im missing here? im not interested in fiths or sevenths or anything jazzy and bluesy, nor do i have the brain / will power to wade through reems of music theory !
all the best, and seasons greetings !

Couple of very similar posts today!  Got your message on theory.

I'd still encourage you to try http://squeezebox.chrisryall.net/ which has an ADG pre-set. It will probably find chords in 'the other direction' to your set and in due course these will one day save your left arm running out of wind. It will also find 7's - but if you don't like 'em - you don't need 'em  (:)

'Sus' chords are worth exploring though - more 'folky' in sound and offer a note of tension in a run.  Have fun. Chris

Cheers chris, im looking to develop my push pull style, by only crossing on the obvious notes such as pushing a g when im on the d row or playing a pull c arpegio when pulling a long c note, thats why i trind to match the chords with the bass - sound about right?
