Gauze behind grill
« on: December 08, 2008, 12:25:17 PM »

Hi all,
I'm looking for a dark gauze to fit behind the grill of an accordion Im repairing. Any idea where I might get a selection of materials to choose from? Are there suppliers of such in Ireland, England, Scotland? :-\
Thanks

I bought fabric from a craft shop, you'll find a wide range of open weave stuff used for cross stitch etc in a variety of colours including black.

Obviously Theo would be the first person to ask.
If he can't help you could try http://www.cgmmusical.co.uk/index.html

Good luck

You might consider that the requirement is the same as that for loudspeaker cloths, i.e. decorative and stops detritus from buzzing around in the speaker cone, but has little or no attenuation of the sound.
