Introducing my Club.....Superstition!
« on: December 10, 2008, 01:28:26 PM »

I was working on an ukulele version of Stevie Wonder's Superstition, and I quite fancied my Club to take the horn parts. Turned out it did quite well! I did warn you all that I wasn't going to stick to traditional music.....

There is a great Northumbrian reel called Morpeth lasses which fits perfectly with the riff that runs through Stevie Wonder's Superstition

I'll tell you what, given that I'd been playing around with much slower tunes, it was a bit of a workout. I ended up crossrowing, and playing it all on the draw, and it weren't easy. No doubt it'd be a walk in the park for a real player, but I had to work in it for about 30 mins before I nailed it!

Good stuff Sam, from the look of the bellows movement the old box is pretty airtight. A bit too wet tuned for my liking but that's a matter of personal preference, I reckon you got a real bargain there.

It's too wet for me as well, and a couple of reeds are well out of whack, but until I can afford to sort it out, at least I have something I can play! It's not at all windy, at least to my limited understanding - I was playing the entire phrase on the draw, and then coming back with the air button, does the bellows movement still look good?
