Sessions Herts/Bucks/Beds Borders?
« on: February 03, 2013, 02:31:30 PM »

I've now been learning D/G melodeon for about 3 months. I don't play any other instruments, and was virtually a complete beginner to music when I started in November.

I've managed to learn some tunes on the right hand end, especially in G, as I find that my mind has difficulty with how the dotty notation relates to the D row - but I'm working hard to try to improve this. I've also spent some time trying to learn some basic music theory, which has helped my understanding of what is going on in the musical notation.

However, I'm having problems with the bass end. I decided, possibly wrongly, to try to get at least some fluency on the RH end first, and I now find that I really can't work out what I should be doing and when with the LH end. My left hand wants to mirror image my right hand all the time, although I'm doing exercises every day to try to break this habit.

I think it's now time to try to go and watch what other people are doing, perhaps ask a few questions if they are amenable to it.

So, my question is, are there any sessions in that corner of Hertfordshire that is close to both Bucks and Beds - particularly if they are relatively informal, which would welcome a beginner along?

Thanks Lester, I've located it on Google Maps. Do you know what time it is?
