I'm traveling to NZ April 10 - 26. Starting and ending in Auckland. I can't go too far because I have to attend a conference in Auckland April 22-24. Anyone know of the music scene within a three hour drive? Irish, Morris dance, Contra dance, or... I think I'll have missed the festivals.

some of it is very out of date, though, so always check before travelling :)
http://www.aucklandmorris.org.nz/ is the morris side.

I'm in Wellington, so don't know much about the sunny north but if you are down this end, give me a shout.

Hi - I don't know about other music but, as Lyra says, it would be a good idea to contact Auckland Morris (practice night is in St Lukes on Thursdays, not far from the central city) - they are a very friendly lot, and the Squire is involved in organising Auckland Contra Dances too.
