Our ceilidh Band Fendragon
are delighted to announce our first album: "Hot Airs"
Dave Holland - fiddle, hurdy gurdy
Gina Holland - descant recorder, flute
Anahata - melodeon, cello
Mary Humphreys - keyboard, English concertina, banjo
This is mostly straightforward dance music from our regular ceilidh sets, though a few tracks are in instrumental combinations we don't usually take to a live ceilidh. I'm playing melodeon on all but three tracks. Two tracks are Playford tunes with hurdy gurdy, recorder and cello.
For dance clubs, the track listings show the type and length of tunes (they tell us this is useful, though of course we'd much prefer them to have live music...)
There's a couple of tune sets in common with the Out Of Reach
CD. Unlike the Out Of Reach project, though, this is not a charity effort - just a collection of good tunes to listen to or dance to, and to promote the band. We're playing at Whitby Folk Week this year (one of the incentives to make the CD, though I'd been thinking of doing it for a while)
